We drive a 43" Diesel pusher motorhome and found ourselves broke down along side I-75 about 4 miles North of Metcalf's. The problem was an injector line leak and fuel was spraying out of the top of the engine. After calling about 5 places in the area to see about getting service, Joe was the one who I decided to give my business. He was very professional and super helpful and went out of his way to make our issue as easy as possible to deal with - even staying late on a Friday night (the day this happened) to tear down the top of the engine to confirm the issue so that the part could be ordered and in-hand first of the week. I would highly recommend!

Our  owner and ASE certified mechanic, Joe Metcalf,  is highly skilled and has years of experience. Most of all: We love being mechanics and care about your individual vehicle and safety. Weather your having a brake repair or having your oil changed we pride ourselves on quick, friendly and honest service.

Joe Metcalf was born and raised in Western Australia. He comes from generations of farmers. On a farm of 30,000 acres, Joe worked with his parents growing grain and live stock.

In the outback Joe and his father kept the farming equipment and family vehicles maintained and repaired.  Their fleet included road trains, combines, tractors, an excavator, harvesters, and much more. Because the closest repair center or parts store was half a days drive, at a very young age, Joe learned to repair engines of all types and sizes and in some cases make his own parts.

10 years ago Joe moved to America and settled down with his wife Lynn in Sarasota. In October of 2006 Metcalf’s Mechanics began. Joe is well known in the community and has built his business and reputation on word of mouth. Honest and trustworthy are two qualities clients use to describe Joe. His work ethics and integrity lead him in all of his business transactions. Joe has always had a passion for fixing vehicle and enjoys solving all types of mechanical issues.
